Discover a bit of our history and our entire methodology.
At International House Madrid (IH Madrid), we are dedicated to language teaching with passion and excellence.
IH Madrid is part of the prestigious International House World Organisation (IHWO), a global network with over 130 schools in 45 countries, all committed to the highest standards in education and training. This network began in 1953 when John and Brita Haycraft founded the first school in Córdoba, Spain.
Since opening in 1981, IH Madrid has grown significantly. Today, we have three centers in Madrid and a team of around 150 professionals dedicated to language teaching. We are proud to be one of the leading language teaching organizations in Spain, offering a wide range of educational and training services.
At IH Madrid, our methodology is based on a communicative approach that places the student at the center of the learning process. We believe that the best way to learn a language is by using it in real and meaningful situations.
Our communicative approach encourages interaction and constant language practice in real-world contexts. Through dynamic and engaging activities, students develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in a balanced and effective way.
We understand that language learning should go beyond memorizing grammar rules. That’s why our classes focus on using the language in authentic and relevant contexts. Students learn to communicate effectively in everyday and professional situations, preparing them for the real world.
We recognize that each student is unique and has their own goals and learning styles. Therefore, we personalize our classes to meet the individual needs of each student. Through initial assessments and ongoing monitoring, we adapt our content and methods to maximize each student’s progress.
We foster collaborative learning, where students work together on projects and activities that strengthen their communication skills and promote teamwork. At IH Madrid, our methodology not only teaches the language, but also inspires students to live and use it confidently in their daily and professional lives.
