The International Spanish Language Evaluation Service is a digital test that certifies the level of Spanish proficiency of students and professionals from the five continents.

The teachers are exceptional, among the best professionals I’ve ever met. I would repeat the course 100 times over, both for its dynamic nature and its content.

Excellent facilities, and the teaching by the teachers is very, very good. They adapt to the needs of each student, which is greatly appreciated.
Both teachers were fantastic. I’m very happy with everything.

SIELE (International Spanish Language Evaluation Service) is a digital Spanish language assessment and certification system. It is jointly promoted by the Instituto Cervantes, UNAM (Mexico), the University of Salamanca and the University of Buenos Aires, and measures Spanish proficiency through four electronic tests aligned with the CEFR.
Both certify Spanish proficiency, but differ in format. DELE awards level-based diplomas with fixed exam dates and no expiry, while SIELE is fully digital, flexible, scored on a point scale linked to CEFR levels, and valid for five years.
Anyone —students or professionals— who wants to certify their level of Spanish can take the SIELE, whether Spanish is their first language or not.
SIELE Global Certificate: awarded for completing all four tests, including a total score and CEFR equivalences.
SIELE Report: for partial or independent tests, it provides scores and CEFR levels for the completed components.
Results are sent by email within three weeks of the exam date. Candidates can log in to the SIELE portal to download their certificate or report.
The SIELE exam assesses four skills: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and interaction, and oral expression and interaction. Each section includes multiple tasks and contributes up to 250 points to the overall score.
You must present a valid photo ID (passport, national ID, or equivalent) that exactly matches the name used when you registered.
Scores from the individual tests are combined into a total score out of 1000, which corresponds to CEFR levels. Each section is assessed according to exam criteria.
Appeals and review requests are handled according to SIELE procedures through the exam centre. Candidates must submit formal requests before the published deadline. (Note: consult your exam centre or siele.org for specific instructions.)
A SIELE exam centre is an authorised location where the tests are administered on computers. You choose your date and take the exam under official supervision. International House Madrid is an official SIELE exam centre.
A SIELE exam centre can offer flexible dates, attract candidates seeking internationally recognised Spanish certification, and manage the fully digital exam for its users.
