El IELTS (International English Language Testing System) es un examen internacional de inglés diseñado para evaluar el nivel de competencia lingüística en contextos reales. Evalúa las cuatro habilidades principales del idioma (Listening, Reading, Writing y Speaking) y cuenta con dos versiones: Academic y General Training, según el propósito del examen.

IELTS One Skill Retake es una opción que permite mejorar la puntuación en una única habilidad del examen sin necesidad de repetirlo por completo.

IELTS ofrece flexibilidad en cuanto a cómo realizar el examen. Las dos modalidades de IELTS son en papel y por ordenador. Ambas con la misma validez y formato de puntuación. Descubre las diferencias entre IELTs en papel y por ordenador, para que escojas el formato que más se adapte a ti.
Listening, Reading y Writing se realizan en un ordenador. La prueba de Speaking sigue siendo en persona. Resultados entre 3 y 5 días.
Listening, Reading y Writing se hacen en papel, mientras que la prueba de expresión oral se realiza en persona con un examinador certificado. Resultados en 13 días.
El examen consta de cuatro partes que evalúan cada destreza lingüística: lectura, escritura, comprensión oral y expresión oral, a menos que tengas una exención debido a una discapacidad (consulta la sección sobre requisitos especiales aquí). Todos los examinados reciben el mismo test para las partes del Listening y el Speaking, pero existen diferencias entre las partes de Writing y Reading según se opte por un test u otro.

El IELTS utiliza una escala de calificación del 1 al 9, conocida como «band score». Cada sección de la prueba (Comprensión Auditiva, Comprensión Lectora, Expresión Escrita y Expresión Oral) recibe una calificación individual. El IELTS (International English Language Testing System) es una prueba estandarizada internacional que evalúa el dominio del idioma inglés en personas no nativas.
